Posted September 09, 2018 09:16:49 The Social Security scam is a problem for anyone who receives disability benefits.
Millions of Americans have been victimized, and it is estimated that as many as half a million have received Social Security benefits.
While the scam is not illegal in most states, it is often extremely difficult to trace a fraudster.
That is why many people have contacted NBC News to share their experiences with a social media website they say is easy to find.
They say they have been swindled out of millions of dollars and have had their identities stolen.
Some have even been charged with bank fraud.
We spoke with the victims and learned about how the scam works and what they have learned.
ABC News: What is the Social Security Fraud Prevention Act?
How does it work?
The Social Safety and Security Act of 1935 requires Social Security numbers to be submitted electronically by the U.S. Postal Service (USPS).
The numbers have to be used for a few years and then the recipient is supposed to report them.
The number must be a four-digit number and must be unique.
It is also required that the recipient report the identity theft if they suspect it is happening.
What does it cost to report fraud?
The cost varies from state to state, but many people receive a credit check for $15.
That’s about a third of the cost of filing a claim.
There is no limit to the number of Social Security cards you can receive, but the Social Services Administration (SSA) says you can only receive two.
How long does it take to receive a refund?
Once you submit your Social Security card, it takes about six months for a refund to arrive.
After that, you can apply for a credit or debit card.
What happens if I receive a fraud alert?
The SSA says they will send a letter to the cardholder within 30 days to inform them of the fraud.
How can I tell if I have been fraudulently swindling people?
If you have been contacted by a scammer, you need to report it to the government agency that investigates the scam.
There are several steps that can be taken.
The first step is to get a receipt from the company or company’s representatives.
Then call the Social Service Fraud Prevention Office and report it.
If you received a credit card, the SSA has a website to report the fraud to the credit bureau.
If the card is a debit card, you will need to call the card company to report and file a complaint.
What is a Social Security fraud alert and why is it important?
Social Security is an entitlement program for disabled people that pays for the cost and benefits of their medical and nursing home care.
It also provides some financial assistance for disabled workers who need a job.
For people who are receiving disability benefits, it can help them find work and keep them out of poverty.
But people who have had a Social Service check withdrawn or a disability claim denied because of a fraudulent Social Security number are especially vulnerable.
They may have lost out on benefits and have been unable to get Social Security disability payments.
If a Social Services fraud alert comes in, you may also have to take a test and fill out an application for a new Social Security Number.
If your Social Service number is a fraud and you do not have the correct information on file, the fraud can go undetected for years.
If someone uses your Social Services number to send out an email scam, they can receive a penalty of $25 to $100 for each Social Security account that they use.
Is there a way to find out if you are a victim of a Social Science Fraud Alert?
The online tool we created to help people identify the identity thieves has a list of names and contact information for each person who was a victim.
The tool is designed to help victims and to help authorities track down the criminals.
The Social Science and Social Security Information Council, a nonprofit group that provides training for the federal government on fraud detection and prevention, provides information about the tool.
You can also contact the SSP to report a scam or check the status of your claim.
How do I report a Social Sci Fraud Alert on Social Security?
If a fraud has been reported to the SSS, you should immediately report the incident to the agency that investigated the scam, which will then investigate and report back to you.
It’s important to make sure that the identity thief who is sending the email did not send the email to multiple recipients, so it is not possible to identify them.
Social Security officials can then investigate further and file an appropriate complaint with the Federal Trade Commission.
What do you do if you receive a Social Scam Alert?
If your name appears on the list of Social Scams, you have to contact the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to report.
If it appears you are the victim of Social Science Scam, you must also call the SSC and file the complaint.
