The UK is the world’s largest democracy with over 300 million people and it is in the midst of a social distancing debate that is the centrepiece of the current UK election campaign.
The debate is the subject of a new documentary entitled What Is Socialism?
produced by BBC World Service and the BBC’s Centre for Labour Research.
It examines the concept of socialism in the country as well as how it can be applied in a variety of settings.
The documentary was broadcast on the BBC World service on Saturday and Sunday and the first episode is now available on BBC iPlayer.
The film was filmed in the early 1990s by the late broadcaster and author, Tony Lloyd.
In the film, Lloyd talks to activists, journalists and members of the public, who give their views on the issue of socialism.
The issue of social distancedness, which Lloyd referred to as the UK’s “social distanced” and “social isolation”, is the key issue for many of those in the debate and the focus of the documentary.
It is a debate that has been taking place in the nation since at least the mid-19th century.
In recent years, the debate has become increasingly focused on the concept that socialism is a “negative force” in the economy.
While the term socialism has been used by many people over the years, in the current context it is being used in a negative manner.
It has been seen as a way of making it harder for those in poverty to get on the economic ladder and to be considered in the labour market.
This negative view of socialism has become the key dividing line between the people who support the system and those who do not.
The BBC documentary also explores the issue and examines what social distances mean for social justice.
“Social distancing means a social distance where people feel that their social status is not enough for them to fulfil their full potential, they feel that they are not being valued, they are being excluded,” Lloyd says.
“It is about having this social distance to be able to do that in society, in our society.”
In the UK it has been around since at the turn of the 20th century.
“What is socialism?
A social distancer is someone who is not happy in their social situation, often due to poverty, unemployment, low wages or social isolation.
Social distanced people are often in the lowest socio-economic groups, often in their late teens and early twenties.
Some people are even in their 20s.
Social Distancing Theory”Social Distances” is a key concept for the film.”
A social distance is a feeling that is not just about the person but the situation,” Lloyd explains.”
So you might be in your 20s and you might not be in the best place, but you have a social dis distance, and that feeling is about you not being as valuable to society as someone who has been in a lower socio-economically privileged position.
“There are other things that are socially distanced.
There are things like people not wanting to have children, people not being able to afford to buy a house or to be a nurse or be a lawyer.
It’s a social isolation that has happened in the society for many people.”
What social distance does not include”The people who are socially isolated, that’s not a bad thing,” Lloyd continues.
“But they have to be careful, they have got to be very careful not to fall into that trap of thinking they have nothing to lose.”
They have got nothing to gain.
They have got everything to lose.
“What about the benefits of socialism?
Social distances, or social distractions, are often viewed as negative and negative social distinctions.
But Lloyd says social distraction does not always mean social isolation or social exclusion.”
When you have somebody that’s socially distancing, you’re not necessarily in the worst place, you’ve got to keep trying to make it better and you’ve just got to go and try to make them better and it’s about building their own community,” he says.
What is social distaring?”
You get a sense of what is socially distended.
So what I mean is you have people who say, ‘I’m not really in the social distal world’, or ‘I don’t really feel part of the society that’s distanced.’
“It’s about creating a community, creating your own culture.
It is about creating an environment where people can feel valued, and you have to create that community.”
The community is a group of people, not necessarily a single person.
And so they can feel like part of that community and you’re part of it.
“People are very, very distanced from the outside world, because they are in the poorest position, they don’t have a lot of options for living in their own home.
So, you can think of it as a kind of distancing
